At the time of writing, Spiller is the only act to have had a total of 2 Top 40 hits which consist of a number 1 and a number 40. His chart topper came in the year 2000 with "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)" and this was his only other hit under the name Spiller.
He did however have another record under the name Laguna with "Spiller From Rio" which made number 40 in 1997, so even then he's only made number 1 or number 40.
The reason for the success of his chart topper was because Sophie Ellis-Bextor was on vocals and it was being promoted as the daughter of a former Blue Peter presenter going up against Posh Spice. The original of that record was a instrumental that never made the Top 40.
This record sampled "Dancefloor" by Zapp and "Love Bandit" by Otis Clay.
