One of the dance music genres that grew quite rapidly in popularity when the 21st century hit was hard house music. One such record that was big in the year 2000 was "Phatt Bass" by Warp Brothers vs Aquagen.
Warp Brothers were a German duo consisting of Oliver Goedicke and Jurgen Dohr and had a total of 3 UK Top 40 hits with this record being the 3rd. In reality there wasn't a great deal of hard house music that made the UK Top 40.
By the end of 2001 the commercial success of hard house music was starting to slow down somewhat, but it still had a pretty healthy following. Like with a lot of specialist genres though it's popularity would eventually decline.
