UK Number 40s: Sparks vs Faith No More - This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us (1997)

"This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us" has the unique distinction of being both the highest charting and lowest charting Top 40 hit for Sparks. It was also both their first and last Top 40 hit, reaching number 2 in 1974 and number 40 in 1997.

The biggest hit for Faith No More was their cover of "Easy" by The Commodores. They received a bit of backlash for that and I can't help but think this Sparks cover/collaboration was a statement that they didn't give a shit.

It was however the beginning of the end for Faith No More. It would be their final Top 40 hit and the band would split up the following year.
