Bobby Brown was originally a member of New Edition and then left for a solo career in the 80s. He had 6 Top 40 hits in the first year of his UK Top 40 career at the end of the 80s.
He continued to have hits in the early 90s. At the same time his personal life was also hitting the headlines, in particular his marriage to Whitney Houston to the point where music started to take a back seat.
In 1996 he reunited with New Edition but the reunion didn't last very long. This was his solo comeback record which had an appearance from his then wife Whitney Houston in the video. It wasn't successful and this would be his final Top 40 hit to date as lead artist. He did however have one further Top 40 hit as featured vocalist on "Thug Lovin" by Ja Rule in 2002.
