UK Number 40s: Alysha Warren - I Thought I Meant The World To You (1995)

When a sibling of an established chart act has a chart career of their own, you're often reminded they're the sibling of said person. We've had for example Dannii Minogue, the sister of Kylie or the B*Witched twins, the sisters of Shane from Boyzone. How about Alysha Warren, the sister of Mica Paris?

With this being her Top 40 debut and only making number 40 I dare say most didn't even notice Alysha Warren charting let alone acknowledge that she's the sister of Mica Paris.

One has to go back to 1989 for the first Alysha Warren single which was "Touch Me". It wasn't a hit, but was sampled for the 49ers record of the same name.

This was single number 4 and it's songwriters included Camus Celli and Andres Levin who had previously been songwriters on the 1990 Mica Paris hit "Contribution". Also on songwriting duties on this record was Andrea Martin and this was her first Top 40 hit as songwriter. She would team up again with Camus Celli and Andres Levin on the 1999 single "So Long" by Fierce but also had several other hits as songwriter, most notably "Don't Let Go (Love)" by En Vogue.

Alysha Warren had one further Top 40 hit as featured artist on "Keep On Pushing Our Love" by Nightcrawlers in 1996 which made number 30. This was her 5th and final single overall.

As for Mica Paris, by that point she had one Top 40 hit left which was a number 40.
