Last week we had a number 40 that perhaps didn't get much radio play for having "why don't you just fuck off" in the chorus, this week we have one that maybe didn't get much radio play for having "bitch" in the title.
It wasn't the first Top 40 hit with "bitch" in the title. The Rolling Stones got there first 20 years earlier with a song simply titled "Bitch". Then we had "The Bitch Is Back" by Elton John, "Ain't Love A Bitch" by Rod Stewart and "The Bitch" by Olympic Runners.
Despite being a songwriter, this record was not written by Stevie Nicks and she allegedly wasn't happy about the word "bitch" being in the lyrics. The writers of the song were Jon Bon Jovi and Billy Falcon and came at a time when Bon Jovi were taking a break.
Although Stevie Nicks is known for being a solo artist as well as a member of Fleetwood Mac she wasn't very prolific in the UK Top 40. The only other hits she has to her name are "Rooms On Fire" in 1989 and as vocalist on the Deep Dish cover of "Dreams" in 2006.
This was the only single to be take from her greatest hits album "Timespace: The Best of Stevie Nicks" with the album making number 15 in the albums chart.
