Del Amitri have had a total of 15 UK Top 40 hits, but none of them have made the Top 10. The nearest they have come was with their debut Top 40 hit "Nothing Ever Happens" which made number 11.
This was Top 40 hit number 14 for them. We've established that they didn't have huge success in the charts, but what may have not helped this record is that their previous hit "Don't Come Home Too Soon" was the official World Cup record for Scotland. No doubt there were English people who wouldn't have bought this record for that reason.
It was a non-album single and was released to promote their greatest hits album which did a lot better reaching number 5 in the albums chart. It also topped the Scottish charts.
