This record reached number 12 in the Billboard 100 making it the highest charting UK number 40 on the Billboard 100 since the "Heartache Tonight" by The Eagles in 1979 which was an American chart topper.
Perhaps the reason this record only made number 40 was the fact it was already 2 years old by this point. It was on her 1994 album "Living Under June" and topped the charts in her native Canada as well as Australia.
It therefore may be an obscure record in the UK but it's not an obscure record internationally. I can vouch for that from the days I listened to 181fm, an American 90s radio station on which this would often appear.
This was her only charting single in the UK and other charts outside of Canada. In Canada though she was still getting into the charts as late as 2010 and is still active on the music scene today.
