Ask someone if they remember the pop duo Gemini they are like to say yes the ones who scored 'nul points' at Eurovision. That was Jemini with a J though. There were another pop duo in the 90s called Gemini who formed in 1995, incidentally the same year their namesakes formed.
They were twin brothers David and Michael Smallwood. It was an era when Take That and East 17 were hugely successful in the boy band world that several others tried and mostly failed to replicate that success.
In the early days of Take That, Ian Levine was one of their producers. That lead to him creating a boy band of his own who were Bad Boys Inc. By 1995 though they were finished and Ian Levine moved on to Gemini.
This was their Top 40 debut. It was written by Mike Rose and Nick Foster who would later find greater success writing songs for Lolly and S Club 7.
Gemini would have 2 further Top 40 hits in 1996 with "Steal Your Love Away" and "Could It Be Forever" which didn't fare much better making 37 and 38 respectively.
By this point though the writing was already on the wall for them as Ian Levine had moved onto another boy band, Upside Down. Remember them?
