For the first time in the 21st century we have a number 40 that isn't a trance record. It's still of the dance music variety though.
Ultra Nate is best known for her 1997 hit "Free" which was one of the biggest dance records of that year. She actually released her first single back in 1989 with "It's Over Now" which failed to reach the Top 40.
This was the lead single from her 4th album "Stranger Than Fiction" and was written by Craig Ross and Gerry DeVeaux who had both previously worked with Lenny Kravitz and had written the single "Life Story" by Angie Stone the same year.
Just one more Top 40 hit would follow for Ultra Nate which was a collaboration with Stonebridge called "Freak On". Her singles would generally do better in the US dance charts and this particular record topped them.
