In 1998 Britpop was more or less finished. What happened next was a number of British indie bands started to make their way into the charts with varying degrees of success.
Urusei Yatsura were one of those bands. They hailed from Scotland and had been around since 1993 and were already onto their 2nd album. What perhaps didn't help their cause was having what is quite possibly the least catchy band name I've ever known.
This was their only Top 40 hit but they had several non-charting singles before they called it a day in 2001.
