Of all the raves featured so far this year, this is the one I know the least about. There's very little on the internet about it too. What I can tell you is it ran from 1994-1997 with several being held at this venue.
It's an all hardcore line up, though drum & bass does feature at other events. There are 6 DJs on the line up with 5 of them appearing on the tape pack, Vinylgroover being the only one not appearing.
Easygroove is one of the DJs playing and like his appearance at Slammin Vinyl & Tazzmania last week he features some drum & bass in his set as well as hardcore. The only new for 1995 drum & bass tune in his set is "Da Heads Ringing" by Cantankerous. Hardcore wise the new for 1995 tune he plays is "Let It Hit Em" by Slim & Hookey.
The set I've chosen to post though comes from Pitse. Who's that? you might be asking. He was a DJ from Brighton and Origin is the only event I've seen evidence of him playing at which he did a few times. I've also found out he sadly passed away in 1997.
It's a shame he never played at any of the bigger events as this is a really good set and has the bulk of the new for 1995 tunes in it. There's "You Take Me Away" by Midas & Vinylgroover and "The Renegade" by DJ Mystical. There were also 2 of his own tunes in the set which are pointed out by the MC, but neither have been identified to this day and were presumably unreleased.
Just one more new for 1995 tune appeared on the tapes which was "Free" by Nakatomi which appeared in the Dougal set. It would be a big tune in 1996 and Nakatomi would have even bigger success with "Children of the Night" before moving away from hardcore and giving the world the Vengaboys towards the end of the decade.
